"I just watched this documentary called Parrot Confidential and it’s really heartbreaking.
I encourage everyone considering buying an exotic bird to watch this and hopefully adopt a rescue parrot instead of buying.”
Thanks for your submission! I completely agree, there are so many birds that need forever homes it’s astounding. I’ll have to watch this tonight, I’m working at the moment but I promise I’ll watch.
My only issues with this are entirely inexperienced people adopting. Parrots are very intelligent and sensitive animals. It is SO EASY for someone to become overwhelmed and become unintentionally neglectful.
What I want to see in the future is more rescue organizations composed of experienced individuals who are able to properly care for these animals, MORE education for first timers and novices, more people volunteering at rescues and training and becoming aware of what it really takes to care for parrots.

Today this blog turns two years old.
My parrot died yesterday so I’m going to need some time before I continue updating.
